Howells High Graduation Held May 11

Eighteen seniors graduated from Howells High School on Friday, May 11. The graduation ceremony was held in the school gym at 7:30 p.m. "Pomp and Circumstance" was played by Betty Elbracht as the seniors were led to the stage by junior leaders Makenzie Polacek and Nathan Bazata. The welcome was given by Kaitlyn Janata, senior class vice president. Mr. Ridder, principal, introduced this year's salutatorian, Amber Burenheide, who then gave her speech. 7th Graders Complete Meal Unit

The 7th Grade FCS class completed their Meals unit by preparing a lunch as a class on Friday, May 11. The students prepared beef and chicken enchiladas; a fruit tray with strawberries, grapes, apples, bananas, pineapple, watermelon, cantaloupe, and oranges; juice; and made smoothies and milkshakes for dessert. The follow track athletes qualified for the 2012 State Track Meet @ Omaha Burke on Friday, May 18th and Saturday, May 19th.
